This article explains each section of your evaluation report and how to use it.

Your report is organized into three layers: a high-level overview, a prioritized recommendation list, and a standard-by-standard breakdown. You can navigate between them using the right-hand sidebar.

The Overview

When you open a completed report, you'll land on the Report Overview. This gives you a snapshot of how your course scored overall.

Overall score and passing threshold

Your score is displayed as a percentage and as a point total (for example, 62/86). The QM passing requirement is 86 points, made up of 66 Essential points and 20 Non-Essential points. Your report breaks your score down into these two categories so you can see exactly where you stand.

• Essential points are the higher-weight standards that carry more significance in a formal QM review
• Non-Essential points contribute to your overall score but are not required to pass
• Additional Non-Essential points can be earned beyond the base allocation

Score colors give you a quick read on each standard: green indicates a strong result, orange signals room for improvement, and red flags areas that need attention.

Rating your results

At the top of the report and within each standard section, you'll see a Rate these AI results prompt with a thumbs up or thumbs down. Use this to flag when a score feels accurate or off. This feedback directly helps improve the tool, and during the beta period it's especially valuable.

Start Here: Prioritized Recommendations

Below the overview score, the Start Here section surfaces the highest-priority actions you can take to improve your score. Recommendations are divided into two columns:

• Quick Fixes: High impact, low effort. These are targeted changes that can meaningfully improve your score without requiring significant course redesign.
• Major Improvements: Highest point opportunities. These require more effort but represent the largest potential score gains.

Each recommendation includes:

• A description of what's missing or needs improvement
• The specific QM standard it maps to
• The number of points you'd gain by addressing it
• An effort level (Low, Medium, or High)

Start with Quick Fixes if you're working toward a near-term review. Use Major Improvements to plan a more substantial course revision. 

Course Standards Analysis

The right-hand sidebar lists all 8 QM standard categories, each with a score showing points earned out of total possible. Click any standard to expand its detailed view.

The 8 standard categories are:

1. Course Overview and Introduction
2. Learning Objectives
3. Assessment and Measurement
4. Instructional Materials
5. Course Activities and Learner Interaction
6. Course Technology
7. Learner Support
8. Accessibility and Usability

Inside each standard

When you expand a standard, you'll see:

• Score breakdown: how many criteria within that standard were Fully Met, Partially Met, or Not Met
• Standard Theme Summary:  a plain-language narrative organized into Areas of Strength and Considerations for Improvement. This gives you qualitative context beyond the numbers.
• Start Here recommendations:  Quick Fixes and Major Improvements specific to that standard, with the same point values and effort levels as the overview

The right-hand sidebar also lists all individual sub-criteria within each standard (e.g., 1.1, 1.2, 1.3) with their scores, so you can pinpoint exactly which criteria are driving your result.
