Noodle Learning Platform Sprint 79
Sprint 79 delivered meaningful improvements across enrollment and payment safeguards, parent and child instance management, and roles and permissions workflows — all live in production. The sprint also included several bug fixes that improve consistency and reliability across learner-facing and admin-facing experiences.
Enrollment, Payments & Access Safeguards
Admins now have stronger guardrails during enrollment and payment workflows. Manual enrollment payments are blocked in scenarios where existing Stripe account credit would create billing conflicts, and the same protections apply to team-course enrollments — preventing admins from proceeding through checkout in ways that could cause reconciliation or invoice issues.
When a Canvas SAML sign-in flow cannot complete automatically, users are now returned to a more appropriate Noodle context rather than an unrelated login destination, creating a clearer recovery path for learners and admins accessing Canvas-based content.
Catalog & Content Management Improvements
Parent admins can now edit existing instructor records without being blocked by a disabled partner field. This restores a key workflow for maintaining catalog data and removes unnecessary friction in day-to-day content management.
Parent & Child Instance Management Improvements
Several navigation and workflow issues affecting parent admins have been resolved. Parent instances now appear as valid selections throughout more admin forms and dropdowns, removing workarounds that previously forced parent admins into child-only selections. The Members page no longer redirects parent admins away from their own instance to the first child instance, ensuring admins always see the correct member list for the context they selected. Cross-instance navigation has also been stabilized — an error that could occur when navigating back from a child instance details page has been resolved.
Roles & Permissions Improvements
Invite workflows now display role labels more clearly, with built-in system roles using cleaner, more descriptive names in invite dropdowns — making role selection easier and reducing mistakes during invitations. On external identity provider instances, users invited with custom admin roles now receive invitation emails that more accurately reflect their elevated access, improving the onboarding experience for those users.
Bug Fixes
Canvas course previews cleaned up. A display issue that caused Canvas team technical details to appear on learner-facing course preview pages has been corrected, making previews cleaner and more consistent across LMS types.
Volunteering badge visibility aligned across admin and learner views. A mismatch where admins could see volunteering-related status indicators that learners could not has been resolved, improving consistency and reducing confusion.
Waitlist invitations after seat reductions. In some cases, learners could retain a reserved waitlist invite after course capacity was reduced. This issue has been addressed to reduce learner confusion and admin support burden.
No hotfixes were issued during this sprint.
