OVERVIEW

Noodle Learning Platform is currently experiencing a service disruption affecting all features powered by Canvas LMS, provided by Instructure. This is a third-party incident originating with Instructure and is not isolated to Noodle — institutions across the country are affected.
We understand this disruption comes at a critical time for many students and instructors. We want to be transparent about what is happening, which features are affected, and what steps we are taking to keep you informed.
WHAT HAPPENED

On the afternoon of May 7, 2026, Instructure — the company that develops and maintains Canvas LMS — experienced a widespread platform outage. Canvas, Canvas Beta, and Canvas Test environments all became unavailable. Instructure has confirmed they are investigating the incident and working to restore service. We are in contact with Instructure and monitoring their status updates closely.

The following Noodle Learning Platform features are currently unavailable due to their dependency on Canvas:

- Course enrollments
- Assignments & quizzes
- Gradebook
- Canvas messaging
- File uploads
- Student ePortfolios
Features on Noodle that do not rely on Canvas remain fully operational. If you are uncertain whether a specific feature is affected, please reach out to our support team.
